DENVER (AP) - Outfielder Xavier Nady has agreed to a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies.
The 34-year-old had agreed to a minor league contract with Kansas City in December and was hitting .310 with 11 home runs and 43 RBIs with Triple-A Omaha.
His deal with Kansas City gave him the ability to terminate the contract if he was not added to the major league roster by May 1, and he was released by the Royals on Sunday to allow him to sign with Colorado.
