HOUSTON (AP) -Rangers star slugger Josh Hamilton left Thursday’s game against the Houston Astros after he was hit in the left hand by a pitch.
Hamilton was hit in the first inning by a pitch from Wandy Rodriguez and initially didn’t appear to be injured. He took his base and returned to play defense in the bottom half before he was replaced by Brandon Boggs in the second.
Team officials said he was having his hand X-rayed.
Hamilton, who leads the majors in RBIs, was back in the lineup after leaving Tuesday’s game early and missing Wednesday’s game with inflammation in his left knee.
