MIAMI (AP) -The Florida Marlins plan to place Aaron Boone on the 15-day disabled list with a knee injury.
The move will be retroactive to June 25, and outfielder Todd Linden is expected to be called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to fill the roster spot.

In his first year with the Marlins, Boone is batting .286 with five home runs and 28 RBI in 69 games. Primarily a third baseman, Boone started 46 games at first base in place of Mike Jacobs, who returned to the Marlins lineup this past weekend after a long stint on the DL.
Linden hit .143 in 13 games for the Marlins earlier this season.
