TORONTO (AP) – Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter has been ejected for arguing with plate umpire Angel Hernandez during a game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Baltimore slugger Chris Davis struck out swinging to begin the second inning Friday night, but the pitch got away from catcher Josh Thole and Hernandez originally ruled it a foul ball as Thole threw to first base.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons came out and the umpires huddled, then called Davis out.
That brought out Showalter for an animated discussion with Hernandez. After being ejected, Showalter pointed at all the umpires, then mimicked throwing them out of the game.
It was the first ejection of the season for Showalter and the 25th of his managerial career.
