KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Khalil Greene limped off the field after being hit by a pitch on the right knee Sunday against the Kansas City Royals.
Following the Cardinals’ 12-5 victory, Greene said he’ll be fine.
Greene hit a solo homer off Gil Meche in the second inning, the third straight game he’s hit one out since a 19-day stint on the disabled list due to social anxiety.
With a runner on first in the fourth inning, Meche hit Greene on the knee with his first pitch. Greene stayed down for more than a minute, then limped to the dugout and down the tunnel to the clubhouse. He was replaced by Joe Thurston.
