ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Milton Bradley, the American League batting leader, left the Texas Rangers’ game against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night after injuring his left leg.
Bradley got hurt while running out a two-run single into the right-center field gap in the third inning for the Rangers. Bradley reached down at his leg before even getting to first base, then pulled up without going for second base.
It wasn’t immediately clear what Bradley’s exact injury was.
After manager Ron Washington and a trainer went to check on him, Bradley ran a sprint down the right-field line. But he then went to the dugout and was replaced by Brandon Boggs.
Bradley, who came in batting .329, was 1-for-2 when he left.
Bradley has made only 15 of his 62 starts in the outfield, the rest as the DH as Washington has tried to take it slow with Bradley, who tore the ACL in his right knee at the end of last season.
