PHOENIX (AP) -Houston’s Miguel Tejada singled for his 2,000th career hit on Saturday night.
Tejada singled home a run in the sixth inning against Arizona to end an 0-for-11 slump. He leads the NL with 85 hits.
Tejada became the 29th shortstop in major league history to reach 2,000 hits – a list that includes active players Omar Vizquel of Texas, Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees and Edgar Renteria of San Francisco.
