KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -The Texas Rangers purchased the contract of pitcher Eric Hurley from Triple-A Oklahoma on Wednesday in time for him to start against the Royals in his major league debut.
To make room for Hurley, the Rangers optioned right-hander Kameron Loe to Oklahoma. Loe was 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA in four relief appearances when he was recalled on June 4. He has seen action with Texas in each of the past four seasons.
A 2004 first-round pick, the right-handed Hurley was 2-5 with a 5.30 ERA in 13 starts at Oklahoma. In his last four starts, his ERA was 2.67.
