CLEVELAND (AP) -The Indians have recalled left-hander Jeremy Sowers to start Cleveland’s game Saturday in Detroit against the Tigers.
It will be Sowers’ third start for the Indians this season. He last made a spot start on May 16 against Cincinnati, pitching five innings and giving up three earned runs in a no-decision. He was returned to Triple-A Buffalo the following day.
Sowers has gone 3-4 with a 2.08 ERA in 10 starts for Buffalo.
To make room, the club sent right-hander Brian Slocum to Buffalo. Slocum was brought up on June 4, but didn’t appear in a game for the Indians.
