DETROIT (AP) -The Tigers shuffled their roster Friday, giving their bench and bullpen new looks at the start of a 10-day homestand.
Two players – utility infielder Ramon Santiago and outfielder Clete Thomas – were placed on the 15-day disabled list, with the Thomas move retroactive to June 4. Santiago separated his left shoulder Wednesday in Oakland, one day after Thomas sprained his right ankle.
The Tigers also placed relief pitcher Aquilino Lopez on the bereavement list.
To replace the players, Detroit purchased the contract of infielder Michael Hollimon from Triple-A Toledo and called up outfielder Brent Clevlen. The Tigers also activated reliever Denny Bautista (shoulder) from the disabled list.
