DETROIT (AP) -Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland has been ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the third inning of Wednesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
With the Tigers leading 3-0, Dontrelle Willis hit the leadoff hitter and then walked four of the next five batters, forcing in a pair of runs. Leyland removed Willis from the game, and was ejected by home-plate umpire Jeff Nelson for arguing while he returned to the dugout.
Leyland continued the argument near home plate while reliever Zach Miner warmed up.
