MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Travis Hafner rejoined the Cleveland Indians on Thursday in Minnesota and declared he was ready to return from the disabled list.
Hafner, sidelined since April 29 with right shoulder soreness, returned from a rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus and was examined by trainer Lonnie Soloff. The veteran designated hitter said after Thursday’s game that he hadn’t met with Cleveland manager Eric Wedge yet, but that he feels can be activated before Friday’s game in Chicago.
Hafner had shoulder surgery in October, but opened this season with the Indians. In 17 games, he hit .270 with four homers and eight RBIs before returning to the disabled list after the soreness returned.
