WASHINGTON (AP) -Randy Johnson has left his start with a chance to earn his 300th win.
The Big Unit was pulled after six innings Thursday with his San Francisco Giants leading the Washington Nationals 2-1 in the first game of a doubleheader.
The 45-year-old lefty allowed only two hits and an unearned run, with two walks and two strikeouts in his first attempt at No. 300. He got his 299th win when the Giants beat the Braves 6-3 last week.
Johnson had been scheduled to pitch Wednesday, but the game was rained out and rescheduled for Thursday as part of a doubleheader.
Brandon Medders relieved Johnson and worked a perfect seventh.
