PITTSBURGH (AP) -The New York Mets’ scheduled game against the Pittsburgh Pirates was postponed by rain Wednesday night.
No makeup date has yet been announced.
The pitching matchups will carry over to Thursday afternoon, when the two teams are scheduled to play the finale of their series at PNC Park. Pittsburgh won the first two games, Monday and Tuesday.
New York’s Mike Pelfrey (4-1, 3.88 ERA) is scheduled to face the Pirates’ Ross Ohlendorf (5-5, 4.45) in a matchup of right-handers.
The teams aren’t scheduled to play again this season, and their only common open dates the rest of the way are June 15 and July 2.
