ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -The Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Travis Buck on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique muscle prior to Saturday night’s game against the Texas Rangers.
Buck homered and went 3-for-4 in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader against Texas, but the injury to his side got progressively worse as the game wore on. He sat out the second game before going on the disabled list for the fourth time in his career.
Buck is batting .235 with three homers and nine RBIs this season. He hasn’t committed an error in 141 games, third-longest streak by an outfielder in A’s history.
The A’s also called up outfielder Aaron Cunningham and infielder Gregorio Petit from Triple-A Sacramento and optioned right-hander Jeff Gray.
