KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Outfielder Carlos Quentin, who led the Chicago White Sox in home runs last season, went on the 15-day disabled list Friday with soreness in the bottom of his left foot.
Outfielder DeWayne Wise came back from his rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Charlotte and reinstated from the 15-day DL.
Quentin’s move was retroactive to Tuesday. He was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis.
The 26-year-old Quentin is hitting .229 with eight home runs and 20 RBIs. He left Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels after running out a first-inning double.
Last year in his first season with the White Sox, he had 100 RBIs and 36 home runs.
Wise went on the DL on April 14 with a separated left shoulder. He injured himself making a diving catch the day before.
