DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Tigers placed setup man Fernando Rodney on the 15-day disabled list with bicep tendinitis and recalled right-hander Zach Miner from Triple A Toledo.
The decision to put Rodney on the DL is retroactive to Monday.
Rodney has appeared in 19 games for the Tigers this season. He is 1-4 with a 4.71 ERA, one save and 18 strikeouts.
Miner joins the Tigers for the second time this season. He started for Detroit at Boston on May 17, giving up six hits and one earned run in 5 1-3 innings. In nine games with Toledo, Miner was 1-4 with a 5.07 ERA.
