KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -The Kansas City Royals put right-hander Joakim Soria on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation Saturday and recalled right-hander Ryan Braun from Triple-A Omaha.
The Royals also reclaimed catcher Jason LaRue from his injury assignment and designated catcher Paul Phillips for assignment. LaRue was in the lineup for Saturday night's game against Seattle.
Soria (1-2) has 10 saves and a 3.57 ERA in 21 relief appearances and last appeared in a game on Tuesday. The move is retroactive to May 23. Braun was with the Royals earlier this year before being sent to Omaha, where he had three saves and did not allow an earned run in 8 2-3 innings.
