DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Tigers recalled pitcher Jeremy Bonderman on Thursday from the 15-day disabled list. The right-hander, out since May 9 with a blister on his right middle finger, missed two starts.
He was scheduled to make his eighth start of the season Thursday against Los Angeles’ Ervin Santana. Bonderman (3-4) leads the club with 40 strikeouts.
The Tigers played with a 24-man roster Wednesday after sending rookie pitcher Andrew Miller to Double-A Erie on Tuesday. Miller threw six scoreless innings and earned his first career win in his first major league start May 18 against St. Louis.
