CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cleveland Indians have placed right-handed starter Anthony Reyes and left-hander Aaron Laffey on the 15-day disabled list.
The team says Saturday it recalled left-handers Jeremy Sowers and Rich Rundles from Triple-A Columbus to fill those roster spots.
Reyes left Friday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds with an inflamed pitching elbow after walking a career-high six batters and hitting another in three innings.
Laffey left in the eighth inning after feeling muscles tighten in his lower right side on a pitch that Adam Rosales hit to give the Reds a 3-1 win.
Sowers started for the Indians twice this month and was 0-2 with a 12.00 ERA. Rundles is 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA in 15 relief appearances for Columbus.
