DETROIT (AP) -The Los Angeles Angels placed infielder Maicer Izturis on the 15-day disabled list with an injured right hamstring.
Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia said Izturis was injured Sunday. Izturis is hitting .245 with a home run and 14 RBIs in 29 games.
The Angels also activated second baseman Howie Kendrick from the disabled list after being sidelined since April with a broken middle finger on his left hand. Oakland's Chad Gaudin hit Kendrick with a pitch in the seventh inning of the Athletics' 4-1 victory on April 17. An MRI and CT scan the next day revealed a non-displaced fracture at the base of his middle finger.
