PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) -Boston Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis was hitless in his two-game rehab assignment with Pawtucket.
Youkilis was 0 for 4 Tuesday in a 4-2 win against Buffalo and finished his assignment hitless in six at-bats.
Youkilis is scheduled to rejoin Boston on Wednesday, when the Red Sox host Toronto. He has been on the disabled list since May 12 with a strained left oblique muscle.
He faced right-hander Brandon Knight and grounded out to third base in the first inning. He was called out on a check-swing third strike in the third and lofted a routine fly ball to left field in the fifth.
Carlos Muniz replaced Knight and retired Youkilis on a pop fly to second base in the eighth.
