SEATTLE (AP) -Slumping third baseman Adrian Beltre was back in the Seattle Mariners’ lineup Tuesday night, one day after being given his first game of the season off by manager Don Wakamatsu.
Beltre was listed in his normal cleanup spot in the batting order. He took extra hitting practice before Tuesday night’s game against the Angels, going to the opposite field.
The 30-year-old Beltre entered Tuesday night’s game in an 0-for-13 slump, batting .211 with two homers and 15 RBIs this season.
The Mariners lost Monday night’s game to the Los Angeles Angels 10-6.
