The White Sox made room on the roster Wednesday night by optioning catcher Gustavo Molina to Charlotte.
Hall is a a career .265 hitter during eight major league seasons with Tampa Bay and the Dodgers. He signed a two-year deal with the White Sox in December to serve as the primary backup to A.J. Pierzynski.
