CHICAGO (AP) -The Chicago White Sox activated catcher Toby Hall from the 15-day disabled list Thursday.
Hall, who dislocated his right shoulder diving for a ball while playing first base in a spring training game March 25, had been on a rehab assignment with Class AAA Charlotte. He batted .263 with two homers and seven RBIs in the five rehab games. He had been on the DL since April 1.
The White Sox made room on the roster Wednesday night by optioning catcher Gustavo Molina to Charlotte.
Hall is a a career .265 hitter during eight major league seasons with Tampa Bay and the Dodgers. He signed a two-year deal with the White Sox in December to serve as the primary backup to A.J. Pierzynski.
Hall is expected to start Friday’s game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
