HOUSTON (AP) – George Postolos has resigned as president and CEO of the Houston Astros.
The team announced the decision Monday before it opened a series in Detroit. The Astros entered the game at 10-28, the worst record in the major leagues, and have struggled mightily the past couple of seasons.
Postolos played a key role in helping businessman Jim Crane buy the team. He had been Astros president and CEO since November 2011, and will return to sports consulting work.
