 CHICAGO (AP) -Infielder Alex Cintron was placed on the bereavement list Saturday by the Chicago White Sox, who recalled infielder Andy Gonzalez from Triple-A Charlotte.
Cintron, whose grandfather is ill, must stay on the bereavement list for a minimum of three days. He was also on the list last month. Cintron is batting .128 in 14 games.
Gonzalez was batting .259 for Charlotte. He appeared on one game with the White Sox this season.
Catcher Toby Hall, on the disabled list as he recovers from a dislocated right shoulder, began a rehabilitation assignment with Charlotte.
