PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) -Boston outfielder Rocco Baldelli went 0 for 3 with a sacrifice fly Monday night in the first game of his minor league rehab assignment with the Pawtucket Red Sox.
Baldelli was placed on the disabled list April 21 after injuring his left hamstring. He batted leadoff and was the designated hitter for the PawSox, who beat Toledo 2-1.
Baldelli grounded out to third base in his first and third at-bats. In between, he hit a deep flyball to center that scored a runner from third.
He struck out looking in his final plate appearance.
He’ll play at least one more game for Pawtucket.
