CINCINNATI (AP) -Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 567th homer Friday night, a solo shot off the Colorado Rockies' Jason Hirsch that moved him closer to ninth place on the career list.
The Cincinnati Reds' outfielder is two behind Rafael Palmeiro. Hirsch was the 361st pitcher to give up a homer to Griffey.
The 37-year-old outfielder has been bothered this season by a broken left hand suffered in December, diverticulitis and pleurisy. He has four homers overall.
