MILWAUKEE (AP) -The Milwaukee Brewers traded minor league catcher JD Closser to the Oakland Athletics on Friday for minor league outfielder Charles Thomas.
Closser, claimed off waivers from Colorado during the offseason, was batting .188 with two homers and six RBIs in 17 games for Triple-A Nashville. He is expected to report to Sacramento, the A’s Triple-A team.
Thomas batted .230 with five RBIs in 22 games for Sacramento, and will report to Nashville. Oakland acquired him from Atlanta in the December 2004 deal that sent Tim Hudson to the Braves.
