PHOENIX (AP) -Chan Ho Park was designated for assignment Thursday by the Mets, three days after he was hit hard in his season debut with New York. Park allowed seven runs and six hits in four innings Monday during a 9-6 loss to Florida. He made the start after Orlando Hernandez went on the disabled list with bursitis. New York purchased the contract of pitcher Lino Urdaneta from the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs. The 27-year-old right-hander was 1-0 with six saves and a 5.84 ERA in 10 relief appearances in the minors. |
