SEATTLE (AP) -Brandon Morrow is headed to the 15-day disabled list as the Seattle Mariners are taking a cautious approach with the biceps tendinitis bothering their closer.
Morrow was placed on the DL Saturday, retroactive to April 24, the day after he last pitched. He will be eligible to be activated May 9. Seattle selected right-hander Denny Stark from Triple-A Tacoma to take Morrow’s spot. Seattle now has all spots filled on its 40-man roster.
Morrow argued against the decision to be placed on the disabled list, especially with having not pitched in more than a week to see how his arm would react. Ultimately, Seattle’s staff decided to be safe and give Morrow a few more days of rest.
