MILWAUKEE (AP) Miami Marlins lefty Adam Conley has been taken out of the game after pitching no-hit ball for 7 2/3 innings at Milwaukee.
Marlins manager Don Mattingly pulled Conley after 116 pitches on Friday night. The 25-year-old Conley struck out seven and walked four.
Jose Urena came in from the bullpen to relieve Conley. Domingo Santana then reached base on a hard grounder that deflected off the wrist on Urena’s glove hand, and the play was scored as an error.
Urena got the last out of the eighth with the no-hitter still intact. The Marlins led the Brewers 5-0.
Earlier this month, Ross Stripling of the Los Angeles Dodgers threw no-hit ball for 7 1/3 innings against San Francisco in his major league debut and was taken out after 100 pitches.
