NEW YORK (AP) - Kevin Youkilis is out of the New York Yankees' lineup for the eighth time in nine games because of a bad back and he could be headed to the disabled list.
Youkilis had an MRI Monday and would not speculate about his status when he spoke before the Yankees played the Houston Astros.
Youkilis missed six games, then played first base Saturday and was 0 for 3 with a walk. He woke up tight Sunday.
Girardi said he has no regrets playing Youkilis Saturday.
Also, general manager Brian Cashman was out of his walking boot. He broke his right leg and dislocated the ankle while skydiving during spring training.
