NEW YORK (AP) -Florida shortstop Hanley Ramirez was out of Tuesday night’s lineup because of an injured right hand, and his status for later in the week was uncertain.
Ramirez was hit by a pitch from John Maine leading off Monday night’s game against the New York Mets. He immediately left the game, and X-rays on the All-Star were negative.
Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said Ramirez was “50-50” to play Wednesday afternoon against Johan Santana and the Mets. Florida plays Thursday night at Chicago.
Alfredo Amezaga started in place of Ramirez.
