CHICAGO (AP) -New York Yankees’ reliever Brian Bruney had his right foot in a boot Thursday, two days after twisting it covering first base.
The Yankees are considering placing the right-hander on the disabled list but will wait until doctors in New York review the results of an MRI before making a decision.
“His foot is sore and he’s in a boot,” Girardi said. “There is no structural damage. They’ll send the report back to New York to be read. But there’s no break.”
Bruney is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA this season. He was 3-2 with a 4.68 ERA in 58 relief appearances with New York last season. He’s also pitched previously in the majors with Arizona.
