MIAMI (AP) -Florida Marlins left-hander Dontrelle Willis became a first-time father Tuesday evening when his wife, Natalee, gave birth to a 6-pound, 6-ounce girl.
Adrianna Rose and her mother were doing fine, the team said.
Willis was the winning pitcher Monday night against Atlanta, then headed to the hospital to join his wife. He was not at the ballpark for Tuesday's game.
``I just hope when he comes, he brings some cigars,'' manager Fredi Gonzalez said.
