CLEVELAND (AP) -The Indians placed third baseman Andy Marte on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring Monday.
Marte was injured running out a grounder against Tampa Bay on Sunday. He has struggled this season, committing four errors and hitting .179 with a home run and eight RBIs in 13 games.
Outfielder Shin-Soo Choo was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to take Marte's roster spot. Choo hit .294 with seven RBIs in 12 games at Buffalo. He hit just .242 in spring training.
