PHOENIX (AP) -Colorado’s Franklin Morales has left the Rockies-Arizona Diamondbacks game in the third inning because of a strained left shoulder.
After singling home a run to give the Rockies a 3-2 lead over Arizona on Tuesday night, Morales went to the mound to warm up in the bottom of the third. But manager Clint Hurdle and a trainer came out for a conference, and Morales soon walked to the dugout.
Morales was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs earlier in the day. Morales allowed two runs – on solo homers by Chris Young and Eric Byrnes – in two innings.
Glendon Rusch relieved Morales and allowed consecutive hits to Felipe Lopez, Augie Ojeda and Conor Jackson as the Diamondbacks took a 4-3 lead.
