ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Ian Kinsler became the fourth player in Texas Rangers history to hit for the cycle, reaching the feat with a triple in the sixth inning Wednesday night against Baltimore.
That made him 5-for-5, the five hits matching a career high.
Kinsler led off the first with a double, hit his third homer of the season in the third and then had two singles in the Rangers’ eight-run fourth. His triple was on a deep flyball into the right-center gap, driving in a run. He then scored on Michael Young’s groundout for a 15-4 lead.
The last Rangers player to hit for the cycle was Gary Matthews Jr., at Detroit on Sept. 13, 2006.
