OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -Seattle right fielder Wladimir Balentien left Saturday’s game against the Athletics due to a sprained left wrist.
Balentien was injured when he dove for a ball hit by Orlando Cabrera in the bottom of the first inning that went for a double. He jammed his wrist into the ground on the play.
After trainers examined him on the field, he remained in the game until trying to hit in the sixth. He was replaced in the order by Jose Lopez.
Balentien went 0-for-2 with a walk after hitting safely in each of his first four games.
