DENVER (AP) -The Atlanta Braves activated left-hander Chuck James from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday and placed right-handed reliever Rafael Soriano on the 15-day DL with right elbow tendinitis.
James was the Braves’ starter for Wednesday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies.
He was placed on the disabled list March 29, retroactive to March 21, for what the team said was an impingement in his left shoulder. James pitched in only one game in spring training, giving up one hit and no runs in two innings against the Detroit Tigers on March 13.
Soriano picked up his only save of the season Sunday against the New York Mets, pitching a scoreless ninth in a 3-1 win. He has appeared in four games this season, giving up a run and two hits in four innings.
Soriano’s move to the DL is retroactive to Monday.
