TORONTO (AP) -Kansas City Royals manager Buddy Bell was ejected from Monday night's game against the Blue Jays after plate umpire Paul Nauret allowed Toronto's Reed Johnson to score from first on a ground-rule double that a fan interfered with. A runner is usually awarded two bases when there is a ground-rule double, but Nauret deemed Johnson would have scored on Lyle Overbay's second-inning hit to right. The fan was ejected for grabbing the ball while it was still in play. Bell was ejected during a heated argument with both Nauret and crew chief Gerry Davis. |
