NEW YORK (AP) -Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter left Monday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays after two innings.
New York didn't immediately announce a reason for Jeter's departure.
Morgan Ensberg came in to play first base before the third inning, and Wilson Betemit switched from first to shortstop to replace Jeter.
Jeter beat out a potential double-play grounder in his first at-bat and scored on Bobby Abreu's two-run homer in the first inning. He caught a popup in the first and threw out B.J. Upton on a grounder in the second inning.
