 HOUSTON (AP) - Oakland designated hitter Seth Smith was scratched from Friday night's lineup against the Houston Astros.
He was replaced in the lineup with Chris Young.
Catcher John Jaso moved to fifth in the lineup and Young will hit sixth. The move came because the A's originally thought Houston planned to start left-hander Erik Bedard on Saturday and were going to sit Smith then. Instead, the Astros plan to start right-hander Bud Norris.
