MILWAUKEE (AP) -Reliever Jose Capellan reported to Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate in time for Nashville's opener Thursday night. The right-hander was 4-2 with a 4.40 ERA in 61 appearances for Milwaukee last season, but was left off the Brewers' 25-man roster and optioned to Nashville on Sunday. Capellan mentioned to teammates he might retire and his agent, Bill Rego, requested a trade. Capellan was one of three relievers battling for the final spot in the bullpen that went to right-hander Greg Aquino. In 11 exhibition appearances, Capellan was 1-0 with a 5.06 ERA, with opponents batting .391 against him. |
