MESA, Ariz. (AP) -Los Angeles Angels outfielder Garret Anderson was removed from the lineup of a split-squad game at the Chicago Cubs on Sunday because of irritation in his left knee.
Anderson made the trip from nearby Tempe and warmed up, but about 15 minutes before game time was replaced by Dee Brown, who took over as the left fielder and the No. 3 hitter.
Angels spokesman Larry Babcock said Anderson was day-to-day. Anderson is hitting .350 (7-for-20) with four doubles this spring.
