SURPRISE, Texas (AP) -All-Star center fielder Josh Hamilton has left Texas’ game against the Seattle Mariners with a strained left Achilles’ tendon.
Hamilton hit a drive off the wall in front of the left-field bullpen for a triple in the first inning Sunday. He jogged out to center field between innings but went back to the dugout before the second inning started.
Hamilton walked to the Rangers’ right-field clubhouse where he was examined by team physicians. He is day-to-day.
The 28-year-old slugger is 5-for-9 with two homers, a triple and four RBIs in four games this spring.
