MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Twins for a Twin. The Minnesota Twins say All-Star catcher Joe Mauer and his wife, Maddie, are expecting twins. Media relations director Dustin Morse made the announcement for Mauer in a tweet on Thursday night. The couple married in December. It's only fitting for Mauer, who was born in St. Paul and cheered for the Twins as a boy, then was drafted No. 1 overall by his hometown team in 2001. He developed into a three-time batting champion, an AL MVP and one of the best catchers in the game while playing in front of his family, who raised him just a few miles down the road from Target Field. Pretty soon he'll have to get tickets for two more. |
