SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -Potential jurors in the Barry Bonds trial will not be asked their opinion of Alex Rodriguez.
Bonds’ attorney wanted to ask potential jurors if they had heard of the New York Yankee and allegations that he used steroids.
But the judge in the case, with little comment Tuesday, told attorneys that potential jurors would not be asked about Rodriguez when lawyers begin picking a jury in Bonds’ perjury trial.
The trial begins March 2. Lawyers are scheduled to ask potential jurors questions the next day about their jobs, personal life, any connections to any witnesses in the trial and other questions designed to root out bias.
Bonds attended Tuesday’s hearing, where lawyers discussed how to pick a jury and other housekeeping items.
