NEW YORK (AP) - The Baseball Hall of Fame is starting a drug education program to teach students and young adults about the dangers of performance-enhancing substances. The effort comes the same year that Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa will appear on the Hall ballot for the first time. All three former stars have been tainted by accusations they used steroids to boost their careers. The Hall announced the initiative on Wednesday. Hall President Jeff Idelson says the program is not intended to influence voters on how to judge candidates for the shrine. |
